Sound Workshop
Next workshop not scheduled, sign up below
1:30pm - 4:30pm at Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center
953 Jenifer Street, Madison, Wisconsin
The Hog has workshops from time to time, usually in the Fall. Our last workshop was for trained volunteers where we covered the new stage lighting. When we have a number of new people interested in being trained, we will schedule a newbee workshop.
Sound techs are responsible to setup the sound system on stage and at teh mixer position, liasion with the performers before and during the show concerning sound, run the sound system during the show, take the system down and properly store it all, and to run the house lights, stage and the room. When you volunteer to run sound, you are the sole sound tech. Do ask for assistance mounting the main speakers on their tripods from other volunteers.
About the Workshop for New Sound Volunteers
Who should attend?
1. Current sound volunteers
2. Anyone thinking about volunteering to setup and run our sound system.
What will we cover?
We will review setup of the sound system and philosophy of mixing for folk music. Sharing of ideas, questions and suggestions will be encouraged.

Most of our sound sound equipment is listed in our Sound section of this web site.
Musicians Needed so we can practice mixing!
Musician volunteers are needed on stage to play and sing while workshop attendees
learn to set up mikes and practice mixing sound. You may not be able to complete songs as we may interupt you as we train the workshop participants. But your help will help us train more capable operators for the next time you play at the Coffeehouse.
Refreshments:
We will have our regular supply of juices, tea and coffee available.
